In Honor of Raymond “Rory” Fowlie, Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dear Parents and Patients:
It is with great sadness that we say farewell to our friend and colleague, Raymond “Rory” Fowlie, PMH-NP, Pediatric Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, who passed away suddenly last weekend. This is a tragic and painful loss for Rory’s family and friends, the PCHC family, and his patients.
As Rory’s death is sudden and unexpected, please know that PCHC is currently working on a plan to continue your child’s care. In the interim, Dr. Jessica Arsenault, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, will be supporting your child’s primary care provider (PCP). As soon as we have more definitive plans in place, we will follow up with you immediately.
PCHC understands that Rory provided a critical service for your child and his passing may be difficult for your family. We encourage you to call Penobscot Pediatrics at 947-0147 and ask to speak with Jessica Green should you have questions or concerns. If you have a more immediate need, please call Acadia Hospital’s 24/7 help line at 1-800-640-1211.
Please consider using this “Goodbye Letter” tool with your child when talking about Rory’s passing. You may want to bring it to your child’s next appointment with their PCP or mental health provider for discussion. We’ll also be collecting the letters to share with Rory’s family for patients who are interested. Rory had a very special way of connecting with his patients.
Rory was a kind and caring provider, and exceptionally dedicated to his patients. He will be missed by many.
