Mental Health

Penobscot Pediatrics has a psychiatric nurse practitioner, clinical psychologist, and licensed clinical social worker on staff at our Bangor location.

Our pediatric mental health department offers:

  • Psychiatric assessments
  • Medication evaluation and management
  • Psychological evaluations/ testing
  • Psychotherapy/counseling

Our mental health providers see children and adolescents who have a variety of difficulties.  Family therapy, individual therapy (including cognitive behavioral therapy), and parent consultation are offered.  “Dinosaur School,” a social skills group for children ages four through eight years, and a concurrent parenting group are offered at times.

Children and adolescents must have their primary care provider at PCHC in order to access our mental health services, with the exception of Dinosaur School and parenting group.
